STAFF

A total staff of 30 contribute to a full range of legal services including Residential Conveyancing; Wills and Tax Planning; Probate and Trusts; Commercial Law and Business Matters; Family and Matrimonial; Civil Litigation and Employment; Debt Collection and Crime.

QUALITY MARK

The firm also holds a Specialist Quality mark awarded by the Legal Services Commison for provision of legal services in the areas of Family, Crime and Personal Injury. In 2007 we hope to achieve the Lexcel standard which is the Law Society's practice management quality mark. 

PANEL MEMBERS

Sonia Bowen is accredited to the Law Society's Family Panel and Anne Smith to the Personal Injury Panel. Huw Wyn Williams is a member of the Duty Solicitor Scheme for advice at police stations and court.

SOLICITOR - ADVOCATE (HIGHER COURTS - CRIMINAL)

Huw Williams can also offer Rights of Audience in the Higher Courts (Criminal Proceedings).

OUR AIM

The aim of the firm is to provide advice and action that is both sound and independent. To achieve this we have 10 qualified Lawyers specialising in each of the main areas of law on which you may want help.

We believe that the people of Mid Wales should have a premier law firm within their region and not have to travel over the border to seek specialist legal advice.

Duncan Reid LL.B

Qualified in 1973, trained with a leading commercial city practice and specialises in commercial and company law, leasing and business matters.

Alun Jones LL.B

Born in Foel, qualified in 1978, and a graduate of Aberystwyth University . He is Welsh speaking and a property, wills and tax planning specialist.

Huw Williams LL.B

Qualified in 1986 and joined the Crown Prosecution Service. He joined Harrisons to specialise in criminal law & civil litigation. As a Solicitor Advocate, Huw can accept instructions from clients who are charged at a police station straight through to trial or sentence at Crown Court without the need for a barrister. He is also Welsh speaking. Huw also advises corporate clients on regulatory compliance and prosecutes on behalf of the RSPCA.

Sonia Bowen LL.B

Qualified in 1989 after training with Harrisons . She specialises in family and matrimonial law and is a member of the Family Law Advanced Panel.

Anne Smith BA (Econ)

A graduate of Aberystwyth University , qualified in 1995 after training with Harrisons . She specialises in civil litigation (particularly personal injury law) and is head of our civil litigation department.

Ruth Harris I.L.E.X

A legal executive qualified in 2000 and admitted as a fellow to the Institute of Legal Executives in 2002, Ruth joined the practice to assist with litigation in October 2002. She specialises in personal injury but assists in all aspects of litigation and family work.

David Bruce

Qualified in 1979. Practised in the West Midlands and Shropshire before joining Harrisons to specialise in Wills & Tax Planning Probate & Trusts.

Paul Ingram LL.B

A graduate of Liverpool University, qualified in 1999 after training with Harrisons .  Specialises in Business Sales and Acquisitions, Commercial and Agricultural Property and became a member (partner) in January 2007.

Lowri Rees BA LL.B

A graduate of both the University of Wales Aberystwyth, where she read for a BA English and Welsh Joint Honours Degree and the Univeristy of Wales Cardiff where she read for a LLB Law degree. Lowri specialises in environmental and planning law. Lowri is a fluent Welsh speaker.

Charlotte Powell

Charlotte is a graduate of University College London and a fluent welsh speaker having been born and brought up in Dolgellau. Her roots remain in the area and she works closely with the Merioneth Agricultural Society to arrange the annual Merioneth County Show.

Sarah Bufton

Sarah is a graduate of Aberystwyth University and joined Harrisons on a training contract in September 2007.
